Update: so I have 14v to and out of the control board. Resistance between the two motor wires is 13 ohms (I’m not sure what it’s supposed to be), remote is new. I’m leaning towards the armature/windings being the issue, or I got a crappy control board.

Any Minn Kota gurus on here? Got a riptide/copilot 55 12v that’s giving me some issues. The board went out a few weeks ago, replaced it and it worked perfectly. Took it out on the river and after about an hour I lost the ability to change motor speed, any body know where to start?

Check all connections and make sure the battery is ip to par. The digital remote trooling motors are very sensitive to low voltage. Even sort blips of low voltage qi cause the remote to disconnect.
