A question for the experienced and technical of the group; just go ahead and call me a farmer because all I do is plow rows. At low tide there’s no water in Ponce Inlet. Anyways, this has me looking for a new prop for my 2022 mercury 5 hp. it currently has a 7.8 x 8 prop. Would there be any benefit, at all, in going with a different pitch prop on such a small motor? I top out at about 13 miles an hour, and that’s fine for what I do. But before I order a new prop, I was curious if there was any way to get even one more MPH out of this tiny little thing? This is just for a small inflatable that I use. I changed up the propeller on my Suzuki 115 a couple years back and it made a definitive difference. Just curious if it would matter, at all, on a motor this small. Any advice or experience is appreciated.
