Anyone have a Yamaha 200 hpdi mine a 2006 , got it on a flats boat seems like it’s bogged down getting on plane and rough at a idle but on plane runs wide open and seems fine just had a new ball , filters , all new fuel pumps and new vst system

Google “HPDI mystery filter”. Back in the day I wrote a total break down of it but Yamaha kept pulling the articles on forums. Make sure you do every single test to determine it’s the actual cause but got a lot of life out of the motor once I pulled those filters. No need to even replace them as long as you service injectors (they have the same size screens in each injector)

Order you a diagnostic disc for your laptop off eBay. Comes with a harness to plug in your motor and it will tell you everything about your motor and what it is doing.

Be careful. Sounds like it’s not getting enough fuel which causes it to be lean which will smoke a couple cylinders.

Professionally clean injectors. Spray Engine Tune in air intake. You’ll be amazed at what comes out the exhaust.

Did you use sea foam before or after? We found sea foam would a lot of times create a chemical reaction and put a white film all over your filters and system. Also don’t clean the injectors yourself. They never get clean enough. Take them to a professional. And get the flow test sheet after.
