they are ONLY dangerous if you purchase Chinese made, low quality Lithium batteries for marine purposes. There are many, especially for trolling motors that very light weight and good for running tr0lling motors.

I went with Miller Tech and they have been great!! The Bluetooth app is incredibly simple to use and I always know what charge I am at without even stepping foot on the boat. Also the one issue I had they tuned the battery via the App to adjust performance.

I used lithium pros because I was able to fit 2 36v batteries inside my battery hatch and double my run time. Other 36v batteries were larger and would not fit. I’ve had them for almost 4 years and they are still working great.
